Echoes of Matter
Join us on a journey inside matter, where materials reveal their hidden rhythm, texture, and inner life expressed through the precision and design excellence of Bertazzoni appliances.

Bertazzoni and visual agency FrameDealer present two video installations, a sensory exploration of glass and metal—core elements in the creation of Bertazzoni appliances, iconic objects that, since 1882, have defined the style and innovation of Italian kitchen design. The installations will be on view during Fuorisalone 2026, from April 21 to 26, at the Bertazzoni Showroom, Via Durini 17, Galleria Strasburgo, Milan.

Glass
Glass

An exploration of glass as a perceptual threshold: a transparent material capable of reflecting, multiplying, and dissolving presence. Within a mirrored room, a LED wall activates a system of potentially infinite reflections, altering and destabilizing spatial perception.

When the screen is off, the dark glass surface returns the viewer’s image; once activated, the reflection disappears, giving way to representation. The viewer thus enters the work: their image is captured, processed in real time, and multiplied throughout the installation.

Three-dimensional animations, amplified by reflective surfaces, construct an immersive ecosystem where light, image, and architecture overlap between the visible and the invisible. An experience designed to engage and attract, where perception and presence become a shared material.

Metal
Metal

The installation explores metal as a primary material of design, establishing a dialogue between function and perception. Copper and stainless-steel kitchen components are arranged on a plinth beneath a LED wall, creating a direct relationship between physical matter and its mediated image.

A video work, produced through micro and macro-scale recordings of the same elements, dissolves their functional recognisability, revealing instead their surfaces, textures, and manufacturing processes. The continuous shift between real scale and extreme magnification generates a perceptual drift in which the object loses its immediate utilitarian identity and emerges as an autonomous visual structure.

Within this shift in scale, metal is released from function and redefined as a sensorial field: a material that does not merely serve design, but articulates it through light, detail, and transformation. The result is an environment where observation and contemplation converge, and where design is experienced first and foremost as the revelation of matter itself, rather than as a finished form.
